Drive Nation 17U point guard Rylan Austin is one of the nation’s best kept secrets, until the Nike EYBL Peach jam that is. Rylan, overlooked most likely due to height, standing at only 5’9 had an impressive showing at Peach Jam this year. The strongminded guard played at an extremely poised paced controlling the game like a high level division 1 guard amongst some of the Nation’s best grassroots defenders. Rylan, unranked showed why he deserves to not only be in conversations with some of the nation’s top point guards, but most importantly proved why he deserves to be on Division 1 recruiting boards. Rylan came into Peach Jam with zero division offers. After notable games this week, averaging 10.7 points per game, tagging along an average of 4.3 assists and 3 rebounds, he performed well against teams like Team CP3 with number 1 player in the class of 2028 AJ Williams Rylan posted 18 points, 16 Points on an efficient 5-8 shooting, NY Rens posting 14 points and in the Peach Jam Championship against a stacked Florida Rebels team posting an efficient 12 points on a impressive 5-9 shooting. Rylan, playing with a squad of only 6 players, helped lead his team to the Nike Eybl Finals whist being the underdog in almost every game, shocked the Nation with a Peach Jam record of 5-2. Rylan, with no offers going into Peach Jam, earned his first division 1 offer from The University of New Orleans, the first of a handful to come for the poised guard. His coach of 6 years, Manny Calton stated in an interview that Rylan is not underrated, but simply has not just been discovered yet, his incredible performance from Peach Jam changing everything for the young guard.
